The back and ribs are made of well flamed solid European maple with a solid European spruce top and hand-varnished It has inlaid, an ebony fingerboard, ebony pegs, ebony chinrest, Milo Stamm bridge, Larsen Aurora strings, integrated tailpiece and a choice of either a wood or carbon bow and a choice of case shape.

Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect on the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life. At Caswells we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. This includes cutting the bridge and top nut, setting the soundpost, and lubricating the pegs. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.
