The Andreas Zeller Double Bass – All solid wood, is an excellent value, European made student instrument which due to the all solid tonewoods offers a good and rich sound. Andreas Zeller have for many years been recognised for their consistency in quality and manufacture and used extensively in education.

Specifications include: Carved solid spruce front, Solid wood maple back and sides, amber gold varnish, ebony fingerboard and tailpiece and full plate machine heads.

For a cheaper option this bass is available with a laminate back and sides

Caswell’s Strings set up: Instruments badly set-up or worse still, not set up at all, can hamper a students progress or even lead to the student giving up. At Caswells we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument to exact standards and specifications. The bridge is correctly cut and the soundpost correctly positioned. The machine heads, and where applicable, the case and bow are checked. With basses it is always recommended that you can come and try the instrument and take it away with you but if this is not possible, instruments are shipped with the bridge up.
