The Yamaha V5SA Violin Outfit is very similar to the V5SC violin outfit but instead of having a hand brushed oil varnish finish it has a sprayed on plain polyurethane Varnish, making it a slightly lower cost option.

It is made of the same quality timbers as the V5SC and also comes complete with a lightweight, water-resistant case for transporting and storing the instrument as well as a high-quality bow and rosin.

Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect on the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life so at Caswells Strings we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.

Description

Yamaha’s V5SA acoustic violin is an all handcrafted violin that delivers outstanding tone, quality, and features that are usually found on instruments that are more expensive. Perfect for the student violinist, the V5SA features a Spruce top along with Maple back and neck that are made from select materials. The violin is spray finished with a tough polyurethane varnish. Designed, sized, and priced for young learners, the V5SA is an excellent choice for students, providing them with a quality instrument that will get them off to a great start.

The V5SC has a Wittner tailpiece with integral adjusters whereas the V5SA has an ebony tailpiece with individual adjusters.

Upgrade strings?: The V5SA comes standard with D’Addario Prelude strings or you have the option of upgrading the violin by upgrading the strings. Upgrading the strings will further enhance the instrument giving it an even warmer and fuller sound. You can of course add any preferred string on our website to your basket and request they be fitted to the violin but we offer here two of the most popular set-ups as standard options: set up with Pirastro Tonica strings or the best selling Thomastik Dominant strings.
