Very good tailpiece bit slow to arrive but as I don’t really ‘need it right now’ as a lot of customers do that was ok

fitting the Wittner tailpiece made no difference to the sound of my violin , but made it easier to tune overall.A fair bit cheaper then the Push but would the Push model make a noticeable difference to the sound being solid wood,i wonder.Good buy recommended.

I bought and fitted this tailpiece because my thumbs hurt when trying to tune with my old tailpiece with a single fine tuner on my e-string.
I was reluctant to do so before now because no pro classical violinists that I know of uses 4 fine tuners and I thought it might look uncool.
However, the advantages are amazing. I can tune so easily and accurately and the violin just comes to life when perfectly in tune.
The tailpiece wire is highly adjustable and settled down after about 12 hours. It allowed me to get 56mm from tailpiece to bridge as recommended (1/6th of string length). With my old tailpiece the max I could get was 50mm. Also the after-lengths are the same across all 4 string – unlike the case where using individual tuners on 1 or 2 strings.
I am no longer reluctant to adjust my bridge to get it siting perfectly upright because re-tuning is so simple.
The tailpiece is super light and looks ebony – it’s not as buff matt lookings as in the photos.
I considered using much more expensive wooden tailpieces but this is just perfect and spending 2x or up to 5x the cost for the wooden parts is unnecessary.
