Leatherwood String Cleaning Wipes

What are the Leatherwood String Cleaning Wipes? Regularly cleaning your strings will improve their sound and prolong their life. Brilliance, resonance, and overall sound quality will improve by removing dirt and oil which significantly dampen vibrations and overtones.

Each wipe is individually packed in a small sachet and is saturated with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol, the highest purity available.  1 wipe is approx 60mm x 30mm

How to use the wipes: Lay a cloth cover underneath the fingerboard to protect the instrument from contact. Slightly loosen your strings so they can be lifted off the bridge, Use the string cleaning wipe as soon as the sachets is opened Wipe the full surface and length of the string. Wait for the string to dry, the liquid evaporates extremely quickly. Tighten your strings, and the strings are ready to use again.

99% Isopropyl Alcohol: Isopropyl wipes are commonly available for uses such medical needs, computer screen cleaners or glasses cleaners. However most of these only have a purity between 70%-80% and contain other ingredients such as water or perfumes which are damaging to strings. The Leatherwood Rosin wipes are the highest purity available, 99%, which means no other chemical residue will be left on the string once the alcohol evaporates away.

We recommend: 1 wipe to clean four strings on violin or viola 2 wipes for four strings for cello and double bass.Depedning on use, it is recommneded you clean your strings once a week.

This product is not recommended for unwound, or open gut strings.
