Cremona in America has some exciting news for 2020! Peter Bahng started making his rosins in New York in 2009. Over 200,000 rosins have been made since then and to this day, each and every rosin is still hand crafted by Peter. The making process has been refined and improved during this time. His rosins have become known and trusted worldwide for their excellent playing properties. Simply put, musicians can rely on his rosins to create a great sound and to allow artistic freedom.
Sanctus, A Piacere, Solo, and Orchestra rosins have all been made under the ANDREA brand name and today are one of our best selling rosins. This is now changing. Starting in spring 2020, Cremona in America will be replacing the name ANDREA with CECILIA. Rosin sizes and pricing will remain much the same as it is now.

You might ask why, when ANDREA is such a well established name. Well, CECILIA was the name of Peter’s mother who passed away in 2019. She was a much loved lady who was passionate about music. The name CECILIA is also that of the patroness of musicians. So, in honour of his mother, musicians, and to celebrate the new decade, Sanctus, Solo and A Piacere will start being made under the CECILIA name.
Cecilia Signature formula rosin:
A new rosin will also be launched called Signature Formula in Spring 2020. This new rosin provides a unique bowing sensation when in contact with the string and a clearly defined reaction. It gives full, rich and expressive tones without excessive ‘bite’. It represents a significant development in the rosin formula and will please the most demanding of musicians. As soon as this is available it will go live on our website.
There will be a transition period where both CECILIA and ANDREA will be available. Signature Formula will be available in spring under the CECILIA name. All other rosins (Sanctus, A Piacere and Solo) will gradually transition to this name. Orchestra rosin will not be available under the CECILIA name and the closest rosin in terms of sound and playing characteristics is A Piacere.
