Catherine Edmunds

Catherine Edmunds is a highly experienced graduate teacher and performer. She studied violin with esteemed soloist Ralph Holmes, and Colin Sauer (Dartington String Quartet), baroque violin with Catherine Mackintosh (Academy of Ancient Music) and viola with Keith Lovell (Dartington and Allegri String Quartets). She has taught for various local authorities, including Barnsley, Durham and Tees Valley. After a career playing string quartets and freelancing with various orchestras, she now can more often be seen playing five-string electric fiddle and keyboards in rock and blues bands. She teaches violin, viola, piano and theory to pupils of all ages and abilities from her home in Bishop Auckland, all lessons carefully tailored to the individual pupil’s tastes and needs.
