The Yamaha VC5S Cello outfit, recommended for advancing students, is made of high quality materials and each instrument is individually hand finished by caring craftspeople.

The instrument is hand sculpted by the same traditional methods as used on high-end string instruments. They are quality instruments that can inspire the musical future of students.

The Outfit comes complete with a Wittner tailpiece, Daddario Prelude strings, a Brasilwood bow and a padded bag. We offer the option to upgrade to Jargar strings which will further enhance the cello giving it an even fuller and more powerful sound.

Yamaha VC5S Cello outfit set-up by Caswells Strings | Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect to the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life. We operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. A set-up in our workshop includes shaping and cutting the bridge, lubricating the pegs, rosining the bow and adjusting the soundpost. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.
