The Stentor Student II Viola Outfit is a step up on the Stentor Student 1 outfit. Instead of having ebonised fittings it has genuine ebony fittings and is fitted standard with Dogal strings. The Stentor II has for decades now been considered the reference standard viola for education with many teachers worldwide recommending them. Set up in Caswell’s workshop you have the ideal instrument to set you off on your viola playing journey.

The Viola is of high quality, handmade in Stentor’s own workshop. The fingerboard, pegs, nut and saddle are ebony. The tailpiece is metal with integral adjusters.

The outfit comes complete with an oblong case with an integral cover and carrying straps plus a good quality wood bow with ebony frog. We offer herewith the option of further upgrading to either Daddario Ascente or Dominant strings, further enhancing the sound of the viola. The next level up in the Stentor range is the Stentor Conservatoire.

Stentor Student II Viola Outfit set-up by Caswells Strings | We don’t sell different levels of set-up – we believe every instrument should have a gold set-up as standard, not something you have to pay for! Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect on the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life. At Caswells we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. This includes cutting the bridge and top nut, setting the soundpost, and lubricating the pegs. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.
