The Stentor Conservatoire FINETUNE Cello outfit is the same Conservatoire cello known and recommended by teachers as a step-up instrument for advancing students, with the basic difference being that it is fitted with Wittner Finetune pegs. The Wittner finetune pegs are a fantastic innovation – they look identical to standard pegs but have a precise geared mechanism inside making tuning precise and effortless allowing you to spend time playing your cello, not tuning it! And what’s more you will never have ‘slipping peg’ problems again.

The cello is hand carved from attractive selected tone woods and finished in Shellax TM varnish and the outfit includes a lightweight, styrofoam hard case and good quality wood bow.

The Cello is set up with the standard factory strings but you also have the option here of upgrading this instrument further by choosing to have it set up with better branded strings. This recommended option gives the instrument a much richer, warmer and fuller sound.

Stentor Conservatoire FINETUNE Cello outfit set up by Caswells Strings (buying with confidence): We don’t sell different levels of set-up – we believe every instrument should have a gold set-up as standard, not something you have to pay for! Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect on the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life. At Caswells we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. This includes cutting the bridge and top nut, setting the soundpost, and lubricating the pegs. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.
