Violins which would fall into what we call Advancing Student Violins are generally three or four models up in the main brand’s line-up of instruments – they would have better tonewoods, generally an oblong case and a better bow.

Given the better tonewoods these violins will always have a better sound, especially with upgraded strings, and respond better to the advancing violinist looking to achieve grades 4, 5 or possibly even 6.

As you start reaching the upper levels of this band, you start to get ‘instrument’ only and a bow and case need to be chosen separately if required.
