Musing bows – Thumb Position & Frog Style
Some of the musing bows have an option of either a Classic (traditional) frog or a Ergo frog. What is the difference?
Ergonomic frog and button:
Musing have pulled up the inner edge of the frog (next to the thumb leather) and made it slightly longer. If you, like most musicians, place your thumb in front of the frog and on the thumb leather, this modern design is particularly comfortable because it increases the contact area between your thumb and the frog.
Classic style frog and button:
Of course, all Müsing bows are also available with the usual classic frog and button. The lower edge of the classic frog is more comfortable especially for those who place their thumb inside the frog, on the edge of the so-called “throat”. The rather rounded edge conveys good grip without pressing.
