We put the questions to Pirastro and here is their answer:
This is a good question, mostly because the strings are, except for the name, quite different.
Description of the violin strings:
The Evah Pirazzi violin string is a very intensive and powerful string, excellent for soloists. It offers a complex sound, rich with overtones based on a brilliant core sound and possess a powerful projection. They offer outstanding tuning stability and they are absolutely insensitive to variations in temperature and humidity. Furthermore they are also suitable for electric or electrically-amplified violins. You can choose between 3 different gauges with different tensions and additionally an alternative goldsteel E-string, which is more brilliant and powerful sound than the silvery steel E string and a platinum E-string which creates an experience of new freedom in the sound design.
The Evah Pirazzi Gold violin string set is a newer synthetic core string set with a optimized synthetic core material and a new winding technique. The strings are also absolutely insensitive to temperature and/or humidity. The break-in time is shorter than ever and the tuning stability is second to none. You can describe the tone best with brilliant, golden, powerful with an instant response throughout the complete dynamic range which brings out finest nuances in pianissimo and great depth in fortissimo. The set is only available in medium gauge and with a stainless steel E string which offers an excellent response and generates a refined and smooth sound right to the very top of the register.
It is not easy to directly compare 2 perfect synthetic core strings while both are offering a wonderful and powerful sound, one with more power (Evah Pirazzi) and the other (Evah Pirazzi gold) brilliant and golden with more dynamic range.
