Workshop by Naomi Yandell, cellist, teacher and co-author of the new Trinity College Sight Reading Books for Cello (A Progressive Method) will talk you through this new approach to sight reading, giving hints, tips and strategies to help teachers and learners.
For: Cello teachers, Students and amateurs of all ages (Grades 1-8) What: An ability to sight read confidently is super useful for any cellist; and yet the very mention of the words ‘sight reading’ can strike dread into the hearts of even the hardiest of students. Learn hints, tips and ideas for tackling the learning and teaching of sight reading in a way that is not only carefully structured but also genuinely fun.

The Science, History, and Care of Strings: By D’addario
Ever wonder exactly how a musical instrument string is made? D’Addario has created a presentation that demystifies the strings on our instruments. By detailing the history and anatomy of strings, we hope that everyone will gain more understanding of what best suits their instrument, playing style, and playing level. We’ll discuss everything that goes into making and playing on a string, including materials, maintenance, longevity, rosin, and everything in between.

Workshop by Naomi Yandell, co-author Top Banana and Cool Beans (published by Stainer & Bell and featured on the new ABRSM syllabus) will introduce you to these new performance pieces and duets. Come and find out more about their innovative approach and either play along or just listen.
Cool Beans: The duets in Cool Beans are designed to encourage excellence in both technical and performance skills, as well as build confidence in ensemble playing from an early stage. Top Banana: A collection of 20 performance pieces – intended to encourage the student to develop good technical habits for the future, while having a considerable amount of fun along the way. For: Cello teachers, students and amateurs of all ages.
